Chinese vendors going full tilt in India
After Huawei got a plum contract from the Tatas, it's now ZTE's turn. Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd has awarded ZTE Corp a Rs 300-crore contract to supply WiMax systems for BSNL's broadband rollout.
ZTE India chairman and managing director Dr DK Ghosh told Economic Times newspaper that the gear would comprise WiMax base-stations, switches and specialised WiMax terminals/handhelds. A portion of the equipment will be manufactured at ZTE India's Manesar plant
