Reliance to use TenXc spectrum saving equipment

05-08-2008

Reliance Communications has contracted Canadian firm TenXc Wireless for increasing the efficiency of spectrum use for its GSM network.

TenXc Wireless, an innovator in Intelligent Radio Frequency solutions, will supply Spectrum efficient Bi-Sector Array antennas for Reliance's nationwide GSM rollout.

TenXc Bi-Sector Array Antennas use a patented beam-shaping technology to maximise use of radio spectrum and provide superior call quality. "They thus help to increase site capacity, maximise performance, maximise coverage, and minimise installation and site costs".

TenXc Wireless was named "Cool Vendors in Carrier Network Infrastructure, 2007" by Gartner Group. According to Gartner "these vendors help carriers keep up with massive consumer demand for network capacity to support media applications".

"TenXc's innovative Bi-Sector Array products increase spectrum efficiency to provide up to double the service capacity using existing site infrastructure avoiding the need for additional cell site costs and lengthy build times. An industry first, the Bi-Sector Array's unique asymmetric patterns and single dual-sector panel delivers maximum capacity performance gains in higher order sectorization site applications while simplifying implementation and reducing site antenna count. In addition, its 'drop and insert' RF design maps to standard 65 degrees sector coverage enabling hotspot deployment in existing networks without re-engineering surrounding sites. This reduces the deployment of additional service capacity to a matter of weeks".
