Connecting enterprises across 20 more cities has begun


Tulip Telecom, an enterprise data connectivity service provider, has announced strong financial results for 3Q ended December 2009. Lt Col H.S Bedi, Chairman and Managing Director, says "the company is growing beyond being a wireless based last mile player to a fibre based last mile company, thus substantially increasing its business potential. Our continuous focus on data connectivity and the fiber roll out has allowed us to offer end-to-end services to our customers".

The first phase of the company's last-mile fiber rollout has been completed in 10 large cities, and Phase 2 covering expansion of last mile fiber in 20 additional cities across India has been started. The company is implementing State-wide Area Networks as per plan. It commissioned its fourth Indian data center in Bangalore.

For 3Q ending December 31, 2009, Tulip posted revenues of Rs. 500.9 crores and net profit of Rs. 68.6 crores against revenues of Rs. 441.87 crores and net profit of Rs. 49.64 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. Continued focus on offering enterprise data connectivity and high bandwidth fiber services has led to a stronger EBITDA margin of 27%.
