Tata Communications has opened its largest data center in India. Spread across nearly 55,000 net square feet, the data center would offer services including co-location, managed hosting and storage and a suite of complementary services including managed security services and CDN services
The Pune IDC will reside on Tata Communications' Tier-1 IP backbone enabling it to provide high capacity Internet, MPLS and global ethernet services.
"We are very pleased to announce the availability of the Pune IDC for our domestic and global customers. The Centre will provide a state-of-the-art infrastructure for supporting mission-critical environments, with advanced cooling, power, redundancy, and sustainability features to ensure that our client's critical systems and applications are readily available while optimising energy efficiency" Tata Communications president, India and APAC & MENA, Sunil Joshi, said.
"The Centre has enough resources to double its area to be able to continue to serve the future needs of our customers" he added.
The Pune data center will serve the hosting, storage and connectivity needs of large enterprises and small and medium businesses in the region, while also serving as a disaster recovery facility for enterprises that are present in other key business centers across India or nearby countries.
Tata Communications has already invested around Rs125 crores in the Pune data center and intends to scale it up over the next three years to Rs500 crore based on market demand, the release said.

The company has a pan-India presence with facilities in Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Kolkata and international facilities in Singapore, the UK and USA.
